Pupil Premium

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

Why does Chagford Primary School receive Pupil Premium funding?
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to support children who may be disadvantaged, including those who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in their school career. Research shows that these children often face barriers to learning and attainment, and the funding helps schools provide extra support to close gaps and ensure all pupils can achieve their potential.

How is the impact measured?
At Chagford Primary School, we monitor and track pupil progress regularly. This allows us to identify needs early and provide targeted support, interventions, and resources to help each child succeed.

The school decides how best to use Pupil Premium funding to support vulnerable pupils and raise attainment.
