Yew Tree – Week 6

Here’s to the end of another fab term!

In English this week, we have been writing our very own revolting recipes and using our very best descriptive powers to disgust but inform the reader on how to make a disgusting pizza, hot dog or sandwich! There are some seriously vile suggestions for ingredients so read them only if you dare!

In Maths, we have been working hard on using the inverse to solve missing number problems and it’s been lovely to see the methods we’ve practiced being put into action!

In PE, we were very lucky to have a cricket workshop from Andy who taught us some of the basics such as how to field and strike. Next term, Andy will be coming back to do some more sessions with us where we will hone our skills before bigger games later on in the summer term!

We have also been preparing for our Easter service this Friday so please come along at 2pm in the Church to see what we have been working on!

Finally, the main reason we are putting the blog up early this week is because we have been working very hard on our recycled art beach scenes!

These art pieces have been sent off ready for the competition so in order to let those at home see them, we have uploaded the photos here for you all to enjoy. Using the recycling sent in from home, (thanks again!) we have been recycling and getting creative as we challenged ourselves to visualise a beach scene inspired by our Bude trip and Brazil topic in Geography! The results are amazing and Yew Tree are very proud (as am I!) with how great and unique each piece is!

Have a great rest of the week everyone and I hope you have a very relaxing and enjoyable Easter holidays!

Best wishes,

Joe Skinner and the Year 2/3 team.
