What a fantastic week we have had!

In English we have been learning about our beautiful new book, ‘Tell me A Dragon’ by Jackie Morris. The children have loved exploring the wonderful pictures and fantastic vocabulary used. We then created story maps and actions to help us remember the text and the ‘patter’ the author uses to structure her sentences. Great effort Yew Tree!

In Maths, we have been bringing our add and subtract work to a close for now with some tricky counting up practice. Lots of great Growth Mindset learning here as we have learnt from mistakes and pushed ourselves further and further. Next week we are looking forward to exploring multiplication and division!

In Science, we learnt lots about how mirrors reflect and the 7 processes of life which was very interesting for both Year 3 and Year 2. We have also explored how to create algorithms in Computing on how to draw a monster (which was hilarious might I add!), exploring the 5 oceans of the world in Geography and furthering our gymnastics skills in PE.

We had a wonderful day for Children in Need in our pyjamas! We even had Pudsey himself pop in to say hello! Apparently we made it onto BBC Devon Radio so tune in on their website to hear the Year 4’s being interviewed about their excellent cake sale!

I would also like to say a big thank you to all the parents/carers who came to Parent’s Evening this week. It was a really positive experience and it is lovely to see how supported the children are at home. Thank you!

Next week, we are looking forward to exploring our text further, having a go at times and divide, exploring body percussion and lots lots more!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Best wishes,

Joe Skinner and the Year 2/3 team.
