Dear Parents,

We need to inform you that in our recent recruitment for an Executive Headteacher post for South Tawton, Chagford and North Tawton we were unable to appoint. An offer was made to a candidate but terms and conditions could not be agreed; this did not include financial considerations. Time to resolve this caused the delay in us getting back to you, so thank you for your patience.

Going forward, there is a meeting of the Full Governing Body of the three schools next week to look at options and to re-advertise the post as appropriate. In the meantime, rest assured the leadership team will continue as usual. We will keep you up to date as things progress.

Yours sincerely,

Hazel Fox on behalf of the Interim Executive Governing Body

West Devon Tag Rugby Finals – Review by River and Henry

Chagford Primary School competed in the West Devon Tag Rugby finals today. We played 5 teams including the finals. Our first match was against Whitchurch and was the first match of the tournament, so both teams were pretty nervous but we won 6-10. We all ran off the pitch with the biggest grins that you could imagine! Our second match was against Bridestowe School which was a tough match because they has an exceptional player on their team and we lost that match 7-4.  Our third match was against Horrabridge that we won by a Slither 10-8. The atmosphere was great and everyone was cheering. Whitchurch, Chagford and Brdestowe all finished with 10 points so it all came down to the team with most points. Chagford came in on top so we were in the finals against our rivals, South Tawton. The final match was very close with both teams scoring right up to the final whistle. The final result was 9-8 to South Tawton. We tried our very best and came in second place

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to support bingo night. It was a real fun night and organised perfectly by Sue Biffani and Amanda Stocks. The total profit raised amounted to £433.05. We could not have raised the funds for the school without your loyal support.

Also a big thank you for the cake donations, the refreshments are an integral part to the fundraising. I could not have managed in the Kitchen without Claire, Sarah and Tamsin and not forgetting Chris. It was a real team effort by all.
