Dear Parents and Friends
Welcome back after the summer holidays. I do hope that you all had a very relaxing time and have come back refreshed and ready to go. It has been an exciting week for the whole school community with our brand new school open for business and the children have been very excited to explore their new surroundings. It has been a delight to see how well they have actually settled into their new spaces and it does almost feel like we have been here for more than just 3 days.
The children spent Wednesday having tours around the school with their class teachers to enable them to become familiar with the new setting and the new routines. I must say that the children already look very much at home and thoroughly enjoying the light, airy and spacious environment. The art and activity rooms have been used well by the pupils and the first music tuition has taken place in our newly sound proofed room upstairs. We are very lucky to have so much room available for our creative curriculum to be delivered.
I would like to extend a warm thank you to all the staff for their hard work over the summer holidays to move out of the old school and into the new building. It has been a huge job to ensure that everything was ready for the first day back for the pupils but it was achieved and the school was looking great on Wednesday -thank you.
This week I have had the opportunity to show you as parents around the new building and on Saturday 15th September the doors will be opened to the wider community to share in this special moment. The school will be open from 12 noon to 3pm so feel free to pop in and have a look around. I would like to think that this building will be used by the whole community and will become another useful facility for the town.
Have a good weekend
