Hurray! It did snow! I hope you all enjoyed the fun. Earlier in the snowy week, Grasshoppers had been outside to spot signs of Spring!! The exciting weather has helped us understand that Winter does not end on one particular day and Spring begin the next. Amazingly, the daffodils have reappeared and they seem none the worse for wear!

This week in school has been very exciting. A re-scheduled World Book Day brought in lots of super characters and lovely books. The children really enjoyed the day in every respect. Thank-you for helping to bring our world of books to life!

On Wednesday we went to Dartington Gardens for our first school trip of the year. We were fortunate with the weather and were able to make the most of being outside. The children were great: they tried their best in every activity and represented Chagford Primary superbly with their exemplary behaviour. We spent the morning in woodland, learning more about the food chain; hunting for stamps to collect onto cards (this supported our understanding of habitats) and making mobiles out of natural and man-made materials. After lunch we had time for a very slippery and squelchy, but quite beautiful, walk down to the river Dart. Well done Grasshoppers for making the most of the day. A big thank-you to the Mums who accompanied us.

And on that note, I hope you are having a splendid day Mums! Breakfast in bed was promised by lots of the children! They did enjoy designing their pizza presents for you.

With best wishes,

Catherine Thomas
