Happy December everybody! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Advent calendars!

Well done Grasshoppers for a great class assembly. The children were in good voice and confident in their approach.

Now we are ready to focus on our Christmas performances. These will be next Thursday afternoon and evening. Please can the children bring in their white clothes on Monday, ideally in a named carrier bag? Thank-you!

This week we have enjoyed cooking the special foods for our assembly. We have also been finding out how recipes are written down, what ‘ingredients’ means and what ‘method’ means. The children have created their own recipes for ‘success’, ‘love’ and ‘happiness’. They were not sure of ideas!

In maths we have completed our focus on fractions and have revisited measuring length, weight, capacity and time in relation to fractions.

The children have enjoyed our frosty and icy mornings. These have led to discussions about the changing season and the beginning of Winter. Everyone has created a beautiful picture of wintry trees in the frost. It was tricky remembering the word ‘deciduous’ for the bare trees though!

Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend.

With best wishes,

Catherine Thomas
