Wow what a fantastic first week we have all had! Despite me saying we would take things slowly and go at the children’s pace, we have already been to the dinner hall to eat; had play time on the big playground; joined in with whole school assembly and done PE – all in our first week! The older children have all been really amazing and have truly proved themselves as Big Robins. Mostly this week we have been settling in and getting to know each other and the routines but we have also managed to fit in Phonics and Maths – some children even learnt how to ‘read’ on our second day!!
We have all loved working and learning in our new space and it has been great to see the Big Robins and Little Robins interacting and moving between the 2/3 spaces. As a team we see this as a great opportunity for the younger and older children to work together and learn from each other and for the staff to work with all the children – no more them and us we are now as one!
So all in all a very successful and exciting week in the Foundation Stage Unit, we look forward to doing it all again next week so have a restful weekend and see you on Monday morning!
