Just Like A  Roman!

Firstly, I must pass on my apologies for my lateness in posting this…I’m afraid it has taken a while for me to learn to use the technology 🙂

So, it has been a very exciting and busy start to the new year in Dragonflies Class! As you will know, we are

learning all about The Romans, and have already taken a historical tour of Exeter, to discover more about our own local Roman history. Here are a few photos taken on the day for your enjoyment!

As you can see, it was a great day out, and a wonderful opportunity to explore at close quarters some amazing Roman artefacts and try on (replica!) Roman outfits.

We have also been working on a brilliant song called ‘Just Like a Roman’ which the children are enjoying. You might already have heard a bar or two of this being sung at home 🙂

Not only that, but we are currently working on a dance sequence about Romans and Britons, which we are hoping to show you when it it is more polished….well, it’s still early days and armies need time to get their act together!

We have been very argumentative, acting in the roles of Romulus and Remus, who could not agree on where to found the city that would become Rome. I think you’ll be able to work out who won that dispute!

And, as of yesterday, we have some dragonfly larvae in the class. It will be fascinating to watch them grow, though I’m not sure what to do when they hatch out….We will check with Chantal, don’t worry!
