Well done Beech class for another successful week at school. It is very tricky indeed to choose two stars of the week because everyone is trying their best, both in work and at play. We are developing a good sense of being a team and supporting each other.

Beech class represented Chagford School at the area multi-skills event on Tuesday morning. The children had fun and made us proud. The Pirate game was a favourite!

Our harvest service had a vibrant and happy ethos. Confidence is growing steadily and the children enjoyed performing. I am sure we shall enjoy sharing some of our work in our class assembly next week. This on Thursday 11th at 3:00pm in the school hall.

In maths we are investigating place value and how this works in numbers to 100. We are learning to compare and to order the numbers with greater confidence.

In literacy, ‘How to Hide a Lion at School’ is definitely a favourite story and we have started finding a lion in strange places!

Next week we are doing a ‘Weather Watch’ every day. This links in with our work on the seasons and knowing the days of the week and the months of the year.

Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend.

With best wishes,

Catherine Thomas
