Welcome back to the new school year and a special welcome to Grasshoppers class!
Working closely in partnership with you is most important, as you know your child best, so please keep closely in touch. I am always happy to meet you in person; you can telephone school and I will always return your call; my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please do not hesitate to be in touch!
You are invited to a ‘Meet the teacher’ meeting on Wednesday 13th September at 3:00pm in Grasshoppers’ class. If this is inconvenient, please let me know and we can arrange another time.
Our topic this first half-term is ‘Our Bodies’. Anything linked in with this topic that you have at home, and would like to share, will be welcome. In Grasshoppers, we shall not be doing ‘Show and Tell’ as such but items linked with this topic will be fine. If you have any expertise and would like to come and speak with the children, this would be great! Just let me know! You are also very welcome to come in and spend time with us in school, once we have had a chance to settle in.
Our Grasshoppers class assembly will be at 3:00pm on 19th October.
Please will you make sure that your child has a named P.E. kit in school? Thank-you.
Self-confidence and team work will be at the centre of our approach in Grasshoppers. Ms. Dooley and Mrs. Rowe will be teaching the class each Thursday. Mr. Dray will be running some interventions towards half-term. We shall discuss plans with you, if your child is involved in these.
Enjoying books together and reading together at home are crucially important. Just five minutes each day can make a lifetime’s difference. I shall not be able to hear your child read every day but enjoying books together will happen every day at school. You are very welcome to sit and read with your child when you arrive in school.
Please find below our class timetable and our curriculum jigsaw.
I look forward to working closely with you.
With best wishes,
